– You choose how your name appears when you fill out the nomination form.
– They won’t publish your address, phone number, or email, and won’t sell your image or story to anyone else.
– You won’t be paid for this.
– You can ask them to stop new uses at any time.

ABOUT THESE TERMS
Comfort for a Cause (the “Contest”) is sponsored by The Comfort Group Heating Co., 155 Langford St, Victoria, BC V9A 3B8 (“The Comfort Group”), with heating and cooling equipment provided by AirTek (“AirTek”). In these terms, “you” means the person submitting a nomination (the “Nominator”), and the “Nominee” means the person you nominate. In consideration of the opportunity to nominate someone for the Contest prize, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which you acknowledge, you agree as follows.

1. PERMISSION TO USE YOUR IMAGE, VOICE, AND STORY
You give The Comfort Group, AirTek, and people acting on their behalf (together, the “Sponsors”) permission to use your name (as you choose under Section 2), your city of residence, your nomination story (in full or edited for length and clarity), and any statements you make in writing or out loud about the Contest. If you agree to be photographed, filmed, or recorded in connection with the Contest, the Sponsors may also use those photographs, videos, and audio recordings. Together, these are the “Materials.”

The Sponsors may use the Materials to publicize the Contest and to promote the Sponsors and their products and services, in any medium, including websites, social media, email, print, video, radio, television, and in information shared with news media.

2. HOW YOUR NAME MAY BE USED
You’ll be identified by first name and city only (for example, “Jane from Nanaimo”). Anyone who wants their full name used, or no name at all, can contact The Comfort Group.

You can change your choice later by contacting The Comfort Group (see Section 8). A change applies to new uses only, as described in Section 5.

3. WHAT THE SPONSORS WILL NOT DO
The Sponsors will not:
(a) publish your home address, phone number, or email address;
(b) sell or license the Materials to any unrelated third party for that party’s own use; or
(c) edit your statements in a way that changes their meaning.

4. PEOPLE OTHER THAN YOU
These terms cover you only. Anyone else who appears in photographs, video, or recordings must give their own permission before the Sponsors use their image. Anyone under nineteen (19) years old needs permission from a parent or legal guardian.

5. HOW LONG THIS PERMISSION LASTS
Your permission starts when you submit your nomination and has no end date. You may ask the Sponsors in writing, at any time, to stop using the Materials. Within thirty (30) days of receiving your request, the Sponsors will stop creating new materials that use them and will make reasonable efforts to remove them from websites and social media accounts they control. The Sponsors cannot recall materials that were already printed, broadcast, or distributed, or remove coverage published by news media or other third parties.

6. NO PAYMENT
You will not receive any payment or other compensation for the use of the Materials. Choosing “Do not use my name” does not affect the Nominee’s chances of being selected.

7. RELEASE
To the extent permitted by law, you release the Sponsors and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from all claims and liability related to the use of the Materials in line with these terms, including claims for invasion of privacy or unauthorized use of your name or likeness. This release does not apply to any use of the Materials that breaks these terms.

8. PERSONAL INFORMATION
You consent to The Comfort Group collecting, using, and disclosing your personal information to administer the Contest and as described in these terms, in line with The Comfort Group’s privacy policy at www.comfortgroup.ca and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. Questions or requests about your personal information, a change to your name choice, or a request under Section 5 can be sent to The Comfort Group at 155 Langford St, Victoria, BC V9A 3B8, or by calling (778) 716-2498.

9. WHAT YOU CONFIRM BY CHECKING THE BOX
By checking the box on the nomination form, you confirm that:
(a) you are at least nineteen (19) years old;
(b) you have read and understand the Official Contest Rules at www.comfortgroup.ca/comfortforacause and agree to be bound by them;
(c) you have the Nominee’s permission to nominate them and to share their information with the Sponsors;
(d) the information in your nomination is true to the best of your knowledge; and
(e) you have read and understand these terms and agree to them voluntarily.

10. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in British Columbia.
